Stihl
In approximately 18 months, KÉSZ Romania, as general contractor, delivered the new manufacturing facility of the STIHL Group, with a gross floor area (GFA) of 47,000 sqm, located in the Eurobusiness I Industrial Park in Oradea, near the Borș border crossing at the Romanian–Hungarian border. Construction works for the 125 million euros investment commenced in March 2024 and were carried out on a site of 14.7 hectares. The project represents the largest development in the history of the city’s industrial parks and the second-largest greenfield investment in Oradea.
The investor selected the site based on strategic considerations, including direct motorway access and the availability of a well-developed industrial infrastructure. The facility is STIHL’s first plant specifically designed for the production of battery-powered electric tools.
During execution, particular emphasis was placed on the integration of modern energy and infrastructure solutions. The energy supply for the production halls and the office building is provided by a geothermal system and photovoltaic technology, enabling the complete elimination of fossil gas usage.
